Home Ownership Programs If you have thought of owning your own home but have questions about how to get from point A to point B, we are here to help. Home ownership programs offer first time homebuyer education classes, home maintenance classes and one-on-one pre-purchase and post-purchase counseling. We can help you to find the best way to buy your own home. We have information on down-payment assistance in the form of grants, 1% to 3% interest on second loans and sweat equity. Contact Deb at ext. 22 or dalwine@peninsulapha.org for more information regarding the Home Ownership Programs. If you on currently on Section 8 and are interested in becoming a homeowner contact Lisa at ext 24 or lworthey@peninsulapha.org . Financial Literacy When you take out a $20 bill and buy a gallon of milk, what happens to the remaining $17 in change? If you want to learn where that money goes and how to stop its disappearance, come to financial literacy. There are 6 sessions over a 12-week time span. You will work together with other families and individuals who are trying to make their money go farther. The classes will look at credit including your own credit report. (There will be a small fee to reimburse the PHA for the cost of the credit report). You will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with a counselor to clear up any credit issues you may have. Call
